Quartzite emerges throughout Dark Hollow’s rocky hillsides, a durable stone rich in silica. Silica plays an important role in plant structure and the relationship between growth, light, and ripening. In biodynamics, finely ground quartz is used to make Horn Silica (BD501), a preparation sprayed in minute quantities to support light, form, flowering, and maturation in the farm landscape.
