The first thing you notice isn’t that they’re sustainable. It’s that they’re beautiful.
Greens that still look alive. Carrots with sweetness and character. Tomatoes in shapes and colors the grocery store doesn’t have much use for. Vegetables that change from week to week because the season itself is changing.
Dark Hollow is a Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative CSA pickup site, making it easier to bring exceptional regional farm food home to this side of the Susquehanna.

Taste
Food harvested for a regional CSA doesn’t have to spend its life being selected primarily for shipping, shelf life, and uniformity. The point is to eat it.
Discovery
A weekly share puts ingredients in the kitchen that you might walk past in a store. The question changes from “What should I buy?” to “What can we make with this?”
Season
The box changes because the fields change. Eating this way lets spring, summer, fall, and winter become visible in the kitchen again.
LANCASTER FARM FRESH COOPERATIVE
More than a vegetable box.
Lancaster Farm Fresh is an organic farmers’ cooperative of more than 100 small farms, bringing together exceptional produce and other foods from Lancaster County and regional partners.
CSA shares center on seasonal organic vegetables, with different share sizes and additional options that can include fruit, eggs, cheese, meat, chicken, yogurt, bread, herbs, and flowers depending on the season.
That means a CSA can become more than a produce subscription. It can move a meaningful part of the week’s groceries toward food grown and made by farms in the region.

Dark Hollow serves as a local Lancaster Farm Fresh CSA pickup point for households on the York County side of the Susquehanna.
Membership, payment, share selection, and seasonal availability are handled directly through Lancaster Farm Fresh. Members choose an available pickup site when ordering and receive the current pickup schedule and instructions from the cooperative.

Lancaster Farm Fresh’s Fall 2026 CSA is an eight-week season and a particularly approachable way to try CSA membership.
WHY HOST IT HERE?
One farm doesn’t have to grow everything.
Dark Hollow grows food, tends animals, keeps bees, cultivates perennial crops, and experiments with what a small piece of land can provide. But a rich local food culture is larger than any single farm.
Lancaster Farm Fresh connects growers, producers, households, and pickup sites into a network capable of offering far more diversity than one place could produce alone. Hosting a pickup is one small way Dark Hollow can help that network reach this side of the river.
