Observation

Icelandic sheep are well suited to Dark Hollow’s steep, rocky silvopasture, reflecting their heritage in Iceland’s rugged landscape. They readily browse multiflora rose and oriental bittersweet while largely leaving our native spicebush, sassafras, and pawpaw. A traditional multi-purpose breed, they provide meat, milk, fertility, and a prized double coat: strong outer tog and soft, insulating þel.
