Dark Hollow is a working farmstead. We raise animals, grow food and medicine, tend bees, make biodynamic preparations, manage water and soil, and keep learning from the land.

Biodynamics

We make and use biodynamic preparations, build compost, follow seasonal and celestial rhythms, and pay close attention to how the farm changes over time.

Agroforestry & Perennial Food

We work with trees, woodland edges, silvopasture, native plants, perennial crops, and water. The goal is not a farm cleared of wildness, but a productive landscape with many layers of life.

Sheep & Bees

Our Icelandic sheep give us wool, fertility, grazing, and a daily relationship with the land. Our bees connect us to flowers, weather, season, and the wider life of the farm.

Native Foods & Medicine

Spicebush, sassafras, pawpaw, woodland medicinals, and other useful native plants help us ask a practical question: what can this place already grow well?

Making, Measuring & Learning

We spin wool, bottle honey, make preparations, use chromatography, build small systems, try new ideas, and share what works. The farm is both a home and a place of experiment.
