SUMMARY:Intro to Biodynamics Weekend ft. Jennifer Greene
DESCRIPTION:What changes when we stop approaching the land only as something to manage and begin approaching it as something we can learn from? \nThis two-day intensive at the Horn Farm Center offers an experiential introduction to biodynamics as a practical\, open-ended inquiry into the living relationships among soil\, water\, plants\, animals\, and the wider rhythms of the farm. \nThrough fieldwork\, experiments\, shared observation\, and conversation\, participants will explore circular soil chromatography\, the biodynamic compost preparations\, celestial planting rhythms\, and the making\, stirring\, and application of BD500 horn manure. Participants may also bring soil from a garden\, farm\, or landscape they tend for use in the chromatography work. \nAllen Clements of Dark Hollow Biodynamic will lead the weekend alongside special guest educator Jennifer Greene\, founder and director of the Water Research Institute in Blue Hill\, Maine. Jennifer will guide participants through hands-on experiments examining how water moves\, creates form\, and supports life. \nThis program is open to gardeners\, farmers\, educators\, land stewards\, naturalists\, artists\, and anyone curious about developing a more participatory relationship with the living world. No previous experience with biodynamics is necessary. Curiosity is enough. \nFull-weekend registration is encouraged.
